Ice-skating and sledding in the Isarco Valley – Fun is a must!

It is not necessary to mention it extra: In our region, you will find only natural snow, spread over so wonderfully curved slopes that the handle for sledge is already almost a matter of honor. Sledding makes as a couple or with friends unbridled fun. Should you not want to bring your sled for sledding in Isarco Valley with you, in winter you will find rentals everywhere. By the way in South Tyrol we call the tobogganing: Rodeln!

The most beautiful sled run in South Tyrol

For sledding in the Isarco Valley we strongly recommend the toboggan run Malga Fane. She is considered one of the most beautiful in South Tyrol. You might pay a visit to the romantic village at the end of the high valley of Valles. The rise in this hut village takes about one hour. Above you will find yourself in the midst of Fundres mountains. And now it’s time for the three-kilometer run! Enjoy the difference in altitude of 300 meters by sled. You will be amazed, but should dominate the sledding. Every Friday night you can whiz down the track under the lights – a bobsleigh for experiencing this romantic joy can be spontaneously rented at the Kurzkofel hut.

Ice-skating

Of course we still have other worthwhile toboggan runs locally. Certainly wou will not get bored. Enough tobogganing – now do you want to skate? As an elegant alternative to the traditional winter sport itself ice skating can be practiced on the 2,000 m² natural ice rink at Valles. It is daily prepared and thus ensures the greatest joy on skids.

With soft soles through the snowy landscape

For those who prefer a little more comfort, we recommend a cozy winter walk through the snowy landscape. You start right at the hotel abis Dolomites, in winter there are many hiking trails: We recommend a village tour along the village loop trail, a hike up to Malga Fane or from the mountain station Jochtal to the “Steinermandl”. Very romantic is a winter walk through the snowy Alta Val di Fossa at Maranza. If you want to enjoy a panoramic view, this is granted along a winter walk on the Rodengo Alp.
